WE MADE THE FINALS!
So… this happened! The Creative Nowhere Land Podcast has been nominated and made it through to the finals for a We Are Creative Award. Which, honestly, is kind of wild considering this podcast is still in its infancy. At the time of nomination, we had only released 12 episodes, so we’re still finding our way and learning all this as we go. And yet—here we are.
SHOCKED & HUMBLED!
I won’t lie. When I first saw the nomination, my initial reaction was something between disbelief and a double-take. You know that moment when you check an email, assume it’s spam, and then realise—oh wait, this is real? That was me. Not because I don’t believe in what this podcast is about (I do, deeply), but because the creative journey is often full of self-doubt, imposter syndrome, and a healthy dose of who even cares about this thing I made?
And yet, apparently, someone does. Someone out there listened and thought, Yeah, this deserves a nod. That’s both humbling and kind of terrifying.
SHINE A LIGHT ON INTERESTING & INSPIRING HUMANS!
The Creative Nowhere Land podcast started as a tiny spark—just me, a couple of microphones, and a need to explore creativity in all its messy, beautiful, frustrating elements. I wanted to create a space where we could talk to interesting and inspiring people about not only their journeys and how they got there but also about the real stuff: the doubts, the breakthroughs, the moments of inspiration and the moments where it all felt like too much.
I listen to loads of podcasts, and I believe everyone has a story to tell, and sharing those stories can inspire growth—not just for ourselves but for others as well. So, if even one listener feels inspired by the podcast, then I believe we’ve accomplished something meaningful.
The fact that it’s already resonating with people enough to land a nomination? That’s unexpected. Let alone to become finalists! But it’s also a reminder—maybe for you, definitely for me—that we don’t have to have everything figured out before we start. We don’t have to be “established” or “polished” or have years of experience under our belt to make something meaningful. Sometimes, just showing up and sharing is enough.

Will we win? We are up against some very strong competition and some podcasts that are already very well-established. So, who knows? Honestly, that part doesn’t even matter (okay, maybe a little). What matters is this tiny creative experiment, this little corner of the internet where we talk about achieving our goals and what it means to make and create things, is finding its people. And if this nomination is proof of anything, it’s that creativity thrives in unexpected places. Even in the messy, early, are-we-even-doing-this-right? stages.

For reminding me—and maybe yourself—that creativity and achieving your goals isn’t about waiting for permission. It’s about starting. And seeing where the journey takes you. You never know what might happen.
